The Brooke Weston Trust
A family of primary and secondary schools across Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire.
Driven by his belief in high-quality, state-funded education with lasting impact, Hugh de Capell Brooke pursued the creation of a new school for Corby. He donated 18 acres of Great Oakley land and contributed financially towards the project. The new City Technology College required 30% of its funding to come from the private sector, and the Weston family provided the additional financial support needed to meet that requirement and enable the school to go ahead.
Brooke City Technology College opened in 1991 and later became Brooke Weston Academy, laying the foundations for what is now the Brooke Weston Trust.
Today, the Trust educates more than 10,000 students each year across twelve schools, all rated Good or Outstanding. Alexander de Capell Brooke continues to serve as a Director on the Trust Board, carrying forward the family’s long-standing commitment to education, opportunity and enduring community impact.

The majority of our schools are sponsored academies and free schools, established in areas of disadvantage.

Our aim is simple: to ensure that every child, no matter their background or starting point, leaves us with the necessary qualifications, skills and personal resilience to live a fulfilling life. It is our job to provide the academic and personal ‘tickets for life’ that will make this a reality.
